Shiva Puja is one of the most important religious rituals related to Hindu religion, which is done to worship the Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is considered as the most powerful God, who is an indispensable part of the holy Trinity- Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Brahma is the creator, Vishnu is the preserver and Mahesh/Shiva is the destroyer. Shiva Puja is done by the followers to please Lord Shiva and he is known to be pleased very easily. In this puja the mantra of “Om Namah Shivay” is chanted by the devotees.

When to do Shiva Puja?

All the above mentioned offerings are offered on the general occasions. But, on the special occasions like Shivratri, devotees offer many other offerings which are Bel, Bel leaves, rice grains and gangajal. After all the offerings are made, Shiva Chalisa is recited by the devotees, which is then followed by many other mantras. And as the benefits of Shiva Puja are great, devotees can do this Puja on any Monday when they wish to.
