First entry into the newly built or bought house is a very important aspect of Vastu Shastra and it has to be dealt accordingly. After the home is complete , living at home is to be started at some auspicious moment determined on astrological considerations. The first entry within the house at the auspicious moment is named Griha Pravesh ceremony. Griha Pravesh Puja is suggested and is to bring peace and happiness within the house also to promote wealth and good business in your Home . Three sorts of Griha Pravesh are mentioned within the shastra: Apurva – First entry to measure in house newly constructed on a newly selected land is named Apurva (new) Griha Pravesh.Sapurva – Entry into an already existing house after traveling abroad or migration elsewhere, is named Sapurva Griha Pravesh. Dwandwah – Entry into a house after reconstruction/renovation of the house damaged by fire, flood waters, electricity, wind etc. is termed as Dwandwah (or old) Griha Pravesh.
Griha Pravesh Puja contains: Ganesh Puja, Navagraha Puja, Griha Pravesh Homa or Vastu Shanti Homa worship of the Vastu Purusha and House pradakshina .Then puja should be done to the threshold.
